This notice is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applies only to this website, not to external websites reached through links.

Browsing data

The server hosting the website automatically records certain technical data related to page requests: IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, response status, browser type and operating system. These data are used for the operation and security of the website and not to identify visitors.

Data sent through forms

We process the data you voluntarily send us through the website forms:

• International consultation request: name, email, country, main interest, telephone or WhatsApp (optional), the page from which the request was sent and, where available, the source parameters of the visit (for example the website you came from). If you choose to add them, also the project details: organisation, role, location, land availability and area, project stage and expected start, areas of interest and description.
• Forms on the Italian website (information day bookings, information requests, course registrations, requests for the Institute’s magazine, requests to the Technical Office after the soil test): name, email, telephone and the information requested in each form.

With each request we record the text of the notice accepted, the IP address from which it was sent and the date and time of submission, so that we can demonstrate how and when the request was received.

To block automated submissions, the website uses a hidden field and a check on completion time, both run on our own server without external services.

• Responding to your request — reviewing your enquiry, preparing the first conversation, confirming receipt by email. Legal basis: pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Managing the relationship if the request leads to a contract, and complying with related legal obligations, such as tax obligations. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(c)).
• Keeping the website secure, preventing abuse and being able to demonstrate the origin of requests, including to establish or defend legal claims. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We do not use your data for newsletters or promotional communications. If we offer them in the future, we will ask for separate, optional consent.

There is no automated decision-making or profiling.

No. However, without the data marked as required in the forms we cannot respond to the request. Optional fields, including the project details of the international consultation, only help us prepare better.

• staff of Lumacheria Italiana authorised to manage requests and bound by confidentiality;
• the providers that host and maintain the website and manage email, appointed as data processors under Art. 28 GDPR;
• tax and legal advisers, where necessary;
• public authorities, where required by law.

Requests remain with Lumacheria Italiana: we do not share them with other organisations connected with the Institute, and we do not sell or transfer them to third parties.

If a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so only with the safeguards provided by Articles 44–49 GDPR, such as an adequacy decision (for example the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

This also applies to YouTube videos and to the statistics and advertising tools: see the following sections.

Some pages show videos published on YouTube. The player is not loaded until you click on the video: before that moment the website does not contact YouTube. When you start a video, the player is loaded from the youtube-nocookie.com domain and Google Ireland Limited receives data such as your IP address and device information, which may also be processed in the United States. Google’s privacy policy applies to this processing: policies.google.com/privacy.

• Requests received through forms, including notification emails and the consent record: 24 months from the last contact, after which they are deleted. If the request leads to a contract, the necessary data are kept for 10 years, as required by Italian civil and tax law.
• Browsing data: for the time strictly necessary for website security, unless needed to investigate an offence.

You may at any time request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15–22 GDPR). Write to info@istitutodielicicoltura.com: we reply within one month.

If you believe the processing infringes data protection law, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of the country where you live or work.

The website uses two technical cookies, which remember the language and the choice you made about cookies, and — only if you consent — the cookies of the statistics and marketing tools described in the next section. Details, with names and durations, are in the Cookie Policy.

With your consent, given through the banner shown on your first visit, the website loads three tools through Google Tag Manager:

• Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited), to understand which pages are read and how many requests arrive through the forms, in aggregate form;
• Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited), to measure whether a visit coming from one of our ads leads to a request;
• Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited), for the same measurement on ads published on Facebook and Instagram.

These tools receive data such as the pages visited, the submission of a form (not its content), your IP address and device information, and may process them in the United States as well: Google and Meta adhere to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Their privacy policies: policies.google.com/privacy and facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Google Tag Manager is loaded on every page, but it sets no cookies and activates no tool until you consent.

Without your consent these tools are not loaded and no data is sent. You can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page. Legal basis: consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR), which can be withdrawn without any effect on your use of the website.

We update this notice when the processing or the law changes. The version in force is always this page.
